Both attended the Commonwealth Day Service of Celebration earlier that day. The event drew leaders, ministers, dignitaries, and representatives from across the 56 Commonwealth nations, spanning Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas, with a combined population of 2.5 billion people.
This gathering highlighted shared connections, partnerships, and values like democracy, development, and cooperation, particularly within CARICOM.
Foreign Ministers Meeting and Delegation
Dr. Douglas represents St. Kitts and Nevis in London, accompanied by a high-level delegation of officials and stakeholders. They participate in the Commonwealth Foreign Ministers Meeting, held during Commonwealth Week activities.
The meeting enables foreign ministers to address key global and regional challenges facing the international community.
Call for Unity and Future Events
Upon arriving in London, Dr. Douglas urged Commonwealth states to unite on pressing international issues. He remains in the city for the full Commonwealth Week, including co-chairing the 12th UK-Caribbean Forum with David Lammy.
The forum fosters dialogue between the United Kingdom and Caribbean nations, strengthening diplomatic ties and advancing mutual interests.
