Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew of St. Kitts and Nevis arrived in Accra, Ghana, on March 3, 2026, receiving a warm welcome with full state honors from Ghanaian leadership.

Distinguished Delegation Accompanies PM Drew

The delegation includes Cabinet Secretary Dr. Marcus L. Natta, Special Envoy Ama Martin and her husband Edward Martin, Director of Communications Sherema Matthew from the St. Kitts and Nevis Information Service, and Foreign Service Officer Marva Pinney from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Grand Welcome Ceremony

Ghana’s President John Dramani Mahama personally greeted Prime Minister Drew. The ceremony featured an official parade led by the Ghana Air Force, symbolizing the strong ties and mutual respect between St. Kitts and Nevis and Ghana.

Dr. Drew interacted with the Guard of Honour and met key members of both delegations. He shared photos from the event on social media, expressing appreciation to the Republic of Ghana.

Strengthening Bilateral Ties

The visit underscores the historical and cultural links between the Caribbean and Africa. Diplomatic relations between the two nations date back to 1993.

Leaders reaffirmed their dedication to enhanced cooperation in areas such as education, trade, and culture during the welcoming events.

Bilateral Discussions at Jubilee House

Prime Minister Drew’s itinerary features key meetings, beginning with bilateral talks at Jubilee House. The discussions focus on collaboration opportunities to benefit both regions.
