St. Christopher Air & Sea Ports Authority has installed a new Voice Communication Control System at the Control Tower of Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport. Technicians completed the upgrade on April 7, 2026, enhancing air traffic management across St. Kitts.

Key Installation Details

Aeronav Technician Andre Dion led the installation, introducing upgraded functionality for clearer and more efficient coordination between aircraft movements and air traffic control. This advancement boosts operational capabilities and supports safer airspace management.

Benefits Highlighted by Officials

Airport Manager Don Grant emphasized the system’s importance, stating it benefits both the St. Christopher Air & Sea Ports Authority and the Air Traffic Control Department while upholding high operational standards.

Maintenance Manager Nigel Webbe praised the upgrades, noting they make systems smarter, improve tower performance, and increase reliability.

Witnesses and Broader Impact

Officials including Chief Operations Calvin Duggins, Senior Air Traffic Controller Kurt Louard, and ECCAA Technician Charlie Gumbs attended the installation to oversee the process.

This upgrade aligns with the authority’s vision to modernize infrastructure and strengthen aviation efficiency across the twin-island nation.
