Nevis Premier and Minister of Finance Mark Brantley represented the island at the Southpac Offshore Planning Institute 2026 Conference in Vancouver, held April 14-16.

Focus on Economic Growth and Financial Services

Brantley outlined the Nevis Island Administration’s (NIA) strategy for sustainable development, emphasizing efforts to modernize and expand the international financial services sector. This initiative aims to drive economic diversification across the island.

Conference Theme and Key Discussions

Under the theme “No Longer Optional,” the event drew top experts in estate and wealth management, offshore financial planning, private banking, international financial services, and citizenship by investment programs. Participants addressed pressing global issues, including new regulations, economic volatility, tax strategies, and cross-border wealth management.

Brantley’s Key Insights

Brantley noted that his participation reinforces Nevis’s status as a leading international financial services hub. The conference enabled direct interactions with industry leaders already active in the jurisdiction.

He stated, “I was in Vancouver recently as a special guest of the Southpac group. They are the leading trust services providers in the Cook Islands as well as here in Nevis. I loved this particular conference because it was a small group of dedicated individuals who are industry leaders, business people, and they focused almost exclusively on Nevis and the Cook Islands. I want them to do more business with Nevis.”

Brantley praised the Southpac Group’s role in facilitating engagement with global financial stakeholders. He also highlighted Nevis’s milestone achievement, surpassing EC$20 million in revenue in 2025 for the first time in its history.
