Minister of Education Geoffrey Hanley in St Kitts and Nevis guided Heads of Departments from the Ministry on an islandwide tour of key educational institutions. The inspections focused on evaluating ongoing infrastructure developments and upgrades.

Upgrades at Christopher-Wilkin Institute of Technology

Delegates visited the Christopher-Wilkin Institute of Technology (CWIT), where significant equipment enhancements are underway. Key additions include a Virtual Welding Simulator, enabling students to practice welding through advanced electronic simulation devices.

Progress at Joshua Obadiah Williams Primary School

The group also toured the construction site of Joshua Obadiah Williams Primary School (JOWPS). Work advances steadily and swiftly, reflecting the government’s initiative to deliver safe, modern learning spaces for students across St Kitts and Nevis.

Stakeholder Discussions and Insights

Throughout the visits, Heads of Departments held talks with project managers and stakeholders. These exchanges provided detailed updates on project timelines, completion schedules, and construction challenges. Participants gained a deeper understanding of the projects’ scope and their broader impact on education.

Push for Sustainable School Transportation

The tour concluded at the proposed location for an electric vehicle charging station. This facility supports the rollout of electric school buses, marking a key advancement in sustainable practices for the education sector and greener transportation solutions.

Officials reaffirmed their dedication to enhancing educational infrastructure throughout St Kitts and Nevis.
