Authorities have confirmed the recovery of the body of a Chinese national, identified as Wang Zyuan, who had been reported missing on Mount Liamuiga. The discovery followed an extensive six-day search operation in the popular trekking area of St. Kitts.

Wang Zyuan was last seen on the Mount Liamuiga trail on Wednesday, May 27, 2026. He was located deceased on Monday, June 1, 2026, by a search team. An official police statement confirmed the development on Monday.
The search effort involved a broad coalition of community volunteers and official agencies. Daily searches were conducted by teams comprising members of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF), the St. Kitts-Nevis Defence Force, the St. Kitts-Nevis Fire and Rescue Services, the Police Training School, the Forest Unit, the Red Cross, and the Ross University K9 Unit.
