Four promising primary school students have been awarded scholarships by the William Marcus Natta Memorial Scholarship Fund. The 15th annual Scholarship Awards Ceremony, held on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at the Holy Trinity Activities Centre in Basseterre, celebrated the achievements of these young scholars. The organization announced the names of the recipients via its social media channels shortly after the event.

Scholarship Recipients Announced

This year’s scholarship recipients include two students from Tucker Clarke Primary School: Aaliyah Browne and Kejorn Eddy. Joining them are Cherika Flemming and Williams Archibald, both from Halliday Smith Primary School. These four students have been welcomed into the growing family of William Marcus Natta Scholars.

Inspiring Words and Encouragement

The ceremony featured an inspiring address by Beliesha Mc Donald-Natta, who spoke on the theme “From Promise to Possibility.” She encouraged the students to pursue their aspirations with dedication and purpose, emphasizing the importance of courage and perseverance in overcoming obstacles. Mc Donald-Natta urged the scholars to, “Nurture your promise, practice with purpose, lead with kindness, summon courage, and never stop trying, no matter the obstacles, to turn your promise into possibility.” Her words resonated with the attendees, offering a powerful message for the young recipients as they embark on their academic journeys.

The event also saw encouraging remarks from Lisa-Romayne Archibald-Pistana, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, who offered insights and support to the students. Marsha T. Henderson, Minister of Tourism and other portfolios, was also in attendance. Minister Henderson reinforced the message that no goal is out of reach, reminding the students that their ambitions are valid and achievable.
