The We Village Dat initiative, a grassroots program under the Department of Creative Economy, recently spotlighted outstanding residents in the Ottley’s Lodge area. This national effort recognizes community leaders who drive local development through dedication and innovation.

Event Highlights

On March 12, 2026, a vibrant ceremony brought together residents of all ages to honor key contributors. The event, part of the department’s community outreach, empowers neighborhoods via education, entertainment, and public acclaim. It celebrates individuals making lasting impacts in their locales.

Past recognitions included stalwarts from St. Peter’s Community, represented by Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew. The latest edition focused on Constituency 4, fostering unity and pride.

Distinguished Honorees

The ceremony acknowledged several long-standing contributors:

  • Charlotte Salters for her work in community development
  • Calvin Archibald for advancements in construction
  • Phoenetia Browne for achievements in sports
  • Kymari Wilkinson, a young talent in music
  • Stevel Huggins, a rising star in sports
  • Mr. Moses Thomas, recipient of the Community Spirit award

Minister of Creative Economy Samal Duggins, Parliamentary Representative for Constituency 4, attended to personally congratulate the awardees and present the honors.

This initiative continues to strengthen bonds across the island by highlighting everyday heroes who shape vibrant communities.
