National Honours Nominations Now Open for 2026 Awards

Preparations are underway for the 43rd anniversary of Independence in St. Kitts and Nevis, with the Prime Minister’s office officially opening the call for nominations for the 2026 National Honours Awards. These prestigious awards recognize individuals who have significantly contributed to the nation’s growth and development.

The annual awards ceremony is a cornerstone of the Independence Day celebration. For 2026, the festivities will be guided by the theme, “One People, One Vision, Endless Possibility.”

Recognizing Extraordinary Citizenship

Officials have highlighted that the 2026 National Honours Awards aim to celebrate those who have consistently worked for the betterment of the nation. These awards represent the federation’s highest commendation for extraordinary citizenship, honoring individuals whose dedication, innovation, and selfless service have demonstrably advanced the pace of development in St. Kitts and Nevis.

Recipients of these awards embody the spirit of progress within the federation. The accolades span a diverse range of professions and sectors, acknowledging pioneers in fields such as education and healthcare, as well as those making significant impacts in community development, culture, and enterprise. The National Honours Awards also serve to illuminate the quiet determination of individuals whose efforts have propelled the nation forward.
