SKNTVET CELEBRATES HISTORIC GRADUATION OF NVQ CERTIFIED LEVEL 1 TRAINEES

Basseterre, St. Kitts, Friday, September 05, 2025: The St. Kitts and Nevis Technical and Vocational Training and Coaching (SKNTVET) marked a historic milestone because it hosted its first NVQ Certification Ceremony for trainees who accomplished six-month programs in key vocational disciplines on Thursday, 4 September.

The programme, which was a collaboration between SKNTVET and the Taiwan ICDF, centered on Carpentry, Electrical energy, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, and Welding, outfitted members with sensible expertise designed to satisfy the rising demand for certified professionals in these trades.

Trainees proudly acquired their Nationwide Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Certificates, an achievement that positions them to pursue additional alternatives each domestically and internationally.

Mr. Fitzroy Wilkin, TVET Chair, gave an summary of the coaching.

Minister of Training, Hon. Dr. Geoffrey Hanley, additionally congratulated the trainees and praised the milestone achievement of the nation’s first NVQ-SKN recipients, highlighting the efforts of those that made the certification potential.

“Graduates, Congratulations! It’s best to really feel exceptionally pleased with yourselves as you might be our first graduates to obtain an NVQ-SKN. It is a massive deal! After a long time within the making, our dream of offering NVQs and certifying our expert workforce has come to fruition. I applaud the arduous work of the crew at St. Kitts-Nevis TVET Council, TVET Secretariat, instructors, assessors, and verifiers who’ve been working assiduously to have the ability to award the NVQ-SKN. The power of our TVET system to ship NVQs places St. Kitts and Nevis one step nearer to having the ability to award the Caribbean Vocational Qualification (CVQ), placing us on par with a few of our different Caribbean brothers and sisters.”
