PM Dr Terrance Drew meets Saudi Overseas Minister Ahmed Al-Jubeir to strengthen bilateral ties

Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew attended the Forty-Eighth Common Assembly of the Convention of Heads of Authorities of the Caribbean Neighborhood (CARICOM) and had a gathering with the Minister of State for Overseas Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Adel Bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir. The bilateral assembly was held in Barbados on Thursday, February twentieth, 2025.

PM Drew lauded the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its steady assist CARICOM nations, particularly St Kitts and Nevis.

The 2 delegates mentioned 5 key areas that may profit each the nations, together with Well being and Human Improvement, Safety, Vitality, the International Sustainable Islands Summit, and the 25 by 2025 initiative.

PM Drew appreciated Minister Al-Jubeir for funding St Kitts and Nevis for a number of necessary tasks throughout the Federation. He mentioned that Saudi Arabia has performed an important position in enhancing the nation’s vitality infrastructure. 

Saudi Arabia Funds a number of tasks in St Kitts and Nevis

PM Drew highlighted that Saudi Arabia funded US $40 million by the Saudi Fund for Improvement (SFD) for the enlargement of the Needsmust Energy Plant Venture. 

This venture included set up of latest turbines and a sophisticated metering system for St Kitts Electrical energy Firm (SKELEC). This venture goals to reinforce the nation’s vitality capability.

Furthermore, Saudi Arabia has agreed to fund the development of the geothermal vitality tasks in St Kitts and Nevis. 

PM Drew emphasizes the significance of strengthened bond

Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew emphasised on the broader influence of Saudi Arabia’s contributions to the Caribbean and mentioned that each the nations profit mutually from such partnerships.
