Nevis Promotes Signature Festival in Miami Event
Pheon Hawk Jones, Director of Sales and Marketing for the Nevis Tourism Authority, recently represented the island at the Food, Wine & Fete festival in Miami. During the event, held at Virginia Key Beach Park, Jones introduced the Nevis Mango Festival, the island’s signature culinary celebration, to a diverse audience of travel enthusiasts, food lovers, and members of the Caribbean diaspora.
The promotional efforts are expected to significantly boost interest in the Nevis Mango Festival within the United States. Jones’ participation attracted thousands of international attendees, highlighting one of the region’s most anticipated summer events.
Interactive Engagement Drives Festival Hype
According to officials, the strategy employed during the Miami festival focused on interactive engagement. Visitors were able to learn about and register for the upcoming Mango Festival through QR codes. Additionally, the distribution of mango-infused ice lollies proved to be a popular draw, creating excitement among potential tourists.
Jones shared his positive assessment of the outreach, stating, “We were able to connect with over one thousand patrons through a unique blend of conversation, QR Code activation, and Mango Infused Ice Lollies. We had over 1,000 ice lollies and all and I mean all finished, it was a hit at the event.”
The initiative not only generated buzz for the Mango Festival but also positioned Nevis as a premier culinary travel destination.
Nevis Eyeing ‘Caribbean’s Mango Capital’ Title
Jones was assisted at the event by Cessie Cerrato and Vanessa James, whose contributions were appreciated. Officials believe that Jones’ presence at the Food, Wine & Fete festival played a crucial role in promoting Nevis as the Caribbean’s Mango Capital.
Highlighting the strategic importance of the Miami event, Jones emphasized the direct connectivity between the two regions, which facilitates significant tourist traffic. He also noted Miami’s substantial affluent Caribbean diaspora, alongside a strong presence of cultural and culinary enthusiasts.
