NIA CHARLESTOWN NEVIS (September 22, 2025) –The Nevis Island Administration (NIA) celebrated the Federation’s forty second Anniversary of Independence with a shifting ceremony in Charlestown, the place eleven distinguished residents had been honoured with the 2025 Independence Awards.

The awards had been introduced through the annual ceremonial parade and programme on the Elquemedo T. Willett Park, attended by Premier the Honourable Mark Brantley, Her Honour Mrs. Hyleeta Liburd O.B.E., M.H., Deputy Governor-Common for Nevis, and different dignitaries.

This 12 months’s recipients represented a broad spectrum of service, enterprise, and creativity, reflecting the numerous methods Nevisians contribute to nationwide growth and group life.

Amongst these recognised had been Ms. Sherry Gajor for her excellent contribution to enterprise, Mr. Cleveton Floyd Harris and Mr. Curtis Morton (absent) for his or her long-standing dedication to group service, and Mr. James Williams along with Mr. Maurice Burke for his or her talent and management within the area of development.

Schooling was additionally highlighted, with Mrs. Lornette Webbe and Mrs. Nolla Reid honoured for his or her years of dedication in shaping younger minds. Healthcare was represented by Ms. Roxane Brookes, whose devotion to affected person care and innovation in medical providers has touched lives throughout the island.
