Akim Bartlette of Harris Village, and Kimron Lawrence of Webbes Floor, each on Nevis, have been sentenced to His Majesty’s Jail for offences dedicated between January 1st, 2020, and March 4th, 2021.
Six (6) costs had been initially laid towards each males, specifically Participating in Organised Prison Exercise; Conspiracy to the Importation of Firearm; Importation of Componentsof a Firearm; Misconduct in Public Workplace; Aiding Misconduct in Public Workplace; and Possession of Firearm. On February 4th, 2025, Mr. Bartlette pleaded responsible to the fees of Participating in Organised Prison Exercise and Importation of Parts of a Firearm. Mr. Lawrence pleaded responsible to the fees of Participating in Organised Prison Exercise and Possession of Firearm.
Mr. Bartlette was sentenced to seven (7) years’ imprisonment for Participating in Organised Prison Exercise and 5 (5) years for Importation of Parts of a Firearm. Mr. Lawrence acquired a sentence of fourteen (14) years for Participating in Organised Prison Exercise and 5 (5) years for Possession of Firearm. Each sentences are to run concurrently, with any time beforehand spent on remand to be credited as time served.
The sentences had been handed down on Might sixth, 2025, on the Excessive Courtroom in Basseterre Lordship Justice Iain Morley, KC.
