St Kitts and Nevis celebrates the 20th birthday of Jahzara Claxton today, March 12, as the multi-sport prodigy continues to inspire with her athletic achievements. A standout in cricket, football, and track and field, Claxton represents her nation at regional and international competitions.

Football Forward and National Team Key Player

Claxton thrives as a forward for Newtown United FC and holds a prominent role on the St Kitts and Nevis women’s national football team. Her domestic performances highlight her speed and skill on the pitch.

Cricket Breakthroughs and Historic Milestones

In cricket, Claxton bats left-handed and bowls right-arm medium pace. She anchors the Leeward Islands Women’s Cricket Team and earned a spot on the West Indies Under-19 squad in 2025, marking her as the first female cricketer from the Leeward Islands and St Kitts to achieve this honor.

Her international debut came in a series against England. Since 2022, she competes with the Barbados Royals in the Caribbean Premier League, drawing widespread acclaim for her contributions.

Recently, Claxton claimed the MVP Award of the Tournament, solidifying her reputation as a rising star. Windies Cricket and the Barbados Royals sent birthday greetings, reflecting her impact on the sport.

Regional Admiration and Future Promise

Supporters across St Kitts and Nevis, the Leeward Islands, and the Caribbean cheer Claxton’s milestone birthday. At 20, her trailblazing career promises even greater successes ahead.
