The St. Kitts and Nevis Citizenship by Investment Unit successfully raised US $4,500 through a silent auction held as part of the Investment Gateway Summit (IGS) 2026. These funds are earmarked for the development and support of the Cotton Thomas Primary School, an institution recognized for its dedicated work in providing a tailored learning environment for differently-abled students and those with diverse educational needs.

A Unique Artwork Fuels Generosity

The centerpiece of the silent auction was an original artwork created live by acclaimed artist Lizca Bass. Attendees of the IGS 2026 had the unique opportunity to witness the artistic process unfold over the first two days of the summit. The painting, a dynamic piece born from live creation, was then made available for bidding. Bidding commenced during the Welcome Cocktail reception on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, and remained open throughout the summit, attracting significant interest and multiple bids from event participants.

Prime Developments Secures Winning Bid

The auction officially concluded on Friday, June 19, 2026. Prime Developments emerged as the winning bidder, securing the artwork. Following the close of the bidding, the proceeds totaling US $4,500 were formally presented to Marcia Vanlow-Beaton, a representative of the Cotton Thomas Comprehensive School, during the summit’s closing Gala event.

Supporting Differently-Abled Students

The selection of Cotton Thomas Primary School as the beneficiary underscores the organization’s commitment to supporting differently-abled children and ensuring their access to quality education. The school has established itself as a vital resource, offering specialized educational programs designed to meet the unique requirements of each student.

Timely Donation Aligns with Child Month Observance

The timing of this significant donation coincided with St. Kitts and Nevis’s observance of June as Child Month. This annual observance is dedicated to championing child protection, support, and investment in their future. The funds raised will provide a tangible boost to the school, enhancing its capacity to offer resources and improve the learning environment for its students.

Additional Support from a Benefactor

Adding to the overall success of the fundraising effort, an anonymous benefactor, who narrowly missed out on acquiring the artwork, made a separate generous donation of US $1,000. This additional contribution further strengthens the financial support available to the Cotton Thomas Comprehensive School.

Extending Summit Benefits to the Community

Officials from the Citizenship by Investment Unit highlighted that this initiative is part of a deliberate strategy to extend the positive economic and social impacts generated by the Investment Gateway Summit beyond the event itself. The goal is to ensure that the nation, and its citizens, benefit from the staging of such high-caliber international events.

Enhancing Investment and Connection

The silent auction served not only as a fundraising mechanism but also as an opportunity for IGS 2026 attendees to engage more deeply with the destination they are investing in. It fostered a connection between international participants and local community initiatives, demonstrating a commitment to shared growth and development.

Impact on Educational Resources

The collective funds raised will significantly contribute to improving the quality of resources available to students at the Cotton Thomas Comprehensive School. This includes potential investments in specialized learning materials, adaptive technologies, and enhancements to the school’s facilities, all aimed at creating a more inclusive and effective educational experience for children with diverse needs.

Conclusion

The US $4,500 raised through the IGS 2026 Silent Auction, coupled with the additional $1,000 donation, represents a meaningful contribution to the Cotton Thomas Primary School. This initiative successfully blended a high-profile international event with a crucial local cause, demonstrating a commitment to educational support and community development within St. Kitts and Nevis.
