Charles E. Mills Secondary School has claimed its 29th national title in the TDC Interschool Championships 2026, dominating the three-day event from March 20 to 22 at the renovated Kim Collins Athletic Stadium in Basseterre’s Bird Rock area.
Impressive Medal Haul Secures Victory
The Eagles amassed 29 gold medals, 20 silvers, and 25 bronzes, showcasing their prowess across track and field disciplines. Their triumph culminated in a decisive win in the final 4x400m relay, edging out fierce competition from Charlestown Secondary School.
Charlestown Secondary took second place with 27 golds, 27 silvers, and 25 bronzes. Verchilds High School rounded out the top three, earning 18 golds, 22 silvers, and 12 bronzes.
Officials Praise Athletes and Organizers
Delwayne Delaney, President of St. Kitts Athletics, highlighted how the championships bolster the federation’s athlete development program. He commended the organizers for delivering a successful event and lauded the athletes, coaches, and administrators for their dedication. Delaney noted the intense competition witnessed over the three days.
Sports Minister Samal Duggins congratulated Charles E. Mills Secondary, Charlestown Secondary, and Verchilds High School, stating their performances reflect rigorous preparation, discipline, and high standards.
