The Ministry of Health in St. Kitts is mourning the loss of Adonis Harvey, a dedicated dental clerk who served within the Community Health Services. Harvey passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of compassionate care and professional excellence.

Remembering Adonis Harvey’s Contributions

Curtis Martin, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health, announced Harvey’s passing via his official social media, sharing a heartfelt tribute to her service. Martin described Harvey as an outstanding member of the healthcare community, noting her diligent work, performed with both kindness and brilliance. Patients frequently felt at ease in her presence, benefiting from her attentive listening and genuine concern for their needs. She was also a supportive colleague, consistently offering assistance and encouragement to her team.

“Harvey exemplifies excellence in her duties marked by attentiveness, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to patients and colleagues alike,” Martin stated in his tribute. He further elaborated on her profound dedication, highlighting her proactive approach to patient care, particularly her early arrivals at work to provide meticulous care for children. This commitment underscored her belief in the importance of oral health for a child’s future well-being.

Martin added, “Her early arrivals, meticulous care and heartfelt concern for school children reflected her belief that bright smiles equal bright futures.” This dedication to the younger generation was a hallmark of her professional life.

A Key Figure in Oral Health Awareness

Beyond her direct patient care, Adonis Harvey played a pivotal role in the Ministry of Health’s annual Dental Week observances. She was instrumental in developing and advancing the themes for the week, contributing creative ideas and innovative approaches. Her efforts significantly supported the broader goal of promoting oral health awareness across the federation of St. Kitts and Nevis.

Her positive spirit and unwavering commitment made her a valued member of the Ministry of Health family. Colleagues and superiors alike recognized her significant contributions and the void her absence would create.

Extending Condolences

The Ministry of Health and its staff extend their deepest sympathies to Harvey’s family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time. “My sincere condolences to her family, her colleagues and the entire Health family, may her soul rest in eternal peace,” Martin concluded. Her years of dedicated service in the Community Health Services, particularly within the dental department, underscore her commitment to the well-being of the people, especially the children of St. Kitts.

Adonis Harvey’s tenure was characterized by a deep commitment to her role, ensuring that those under her care, especially children, received the best possible attention. Her work served as a powerful reminder of the critical role dental health plays in overall well-being and the bright futures it helps to secure.
