St. Kitts’ Port Zante welcomed four cruise ships on Wednesday, delivering a total of 8,450 passengers to the island.

Ships and Passenger Numbers

The vessels included Brilliance of the Seas with 2,301 passengers, MSC Virtuosa carrying 5,150 passengers, and Explora II bringing 809 passengers. The Royal Clipper anchored in Basseterre Roadstead, adding 189 passengers who visited the island.

The St. Christopher Air & Sea Ports Authority (SCASPA) praises this influx for enhancing tourism activity. SCASPA states, “Every arrival reflects the power of connection and the strength of seamless operations.”

Passenger Activities and Local Impact

Visitors explored Port Zante shops for local crafts, souvenirs, perfumes, and jewelry. Many opted for island tours via taxis or the St. Kitts Scenic Railway, heading to popular sites like Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park, Romney Manor and Batik, and Black Rocks.

Beaches drew crowds for sea and sun activities, while others strolled Basseterre, visiting landmarks such as the Berkeley Memorial at the Circus, St. George’s Anglican Church, Immaculate Conception Co-Cathedral, Independence Square, the War Memorial, and Palms Court.

The surge kept taxi drivers, tour operators, vendors, restaurateurs, and other tourism businesses thriving, as crew members also supported local small and medium enterprises.
