St. Kitts and Nevis hosted the 50th CARICOM Heads of Government Meeting from February 24 to 27, 2026. The gathering allowed Caribbean leaders to address key regional priorities.

Leadership at the Summit

Dr. Terrance Drew, Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis and current CARICOM Chairperson, chaired the meeting. On the sidelines, he participated in the CARICOM Business Cocktail 2026, where regional leaders met with private sector representatives.

This event fostered discussions on enhancing economic ties across the Caribbean. Attendees explored strategies to expand business growth and collaboration within the community.

Prime Minister’s Keynote Address

Dr. Drew delivered a speech to fellow leaders and CARICOM colleagues, stressing the vital role of regional partnerships in driving business opportunities. He outlined approaches to unlock new avenues for growth and development.

The Prime Minister praised Republic Bank as a premier regional financial institution. He also recognized Global Brands Group of Companies for its significant expansion and regional impact.

Call for Stronger Integration

Following the event, Dr. Drew shared insights on social media, urging closer cooperation among Caribbean nations. He emphasized strengthening regional integration, boosting trade and investment, and creating a more resilient, prosperous future.

“The future of our region will be shaped by the strength of our partnerships,” Dr. Drew stated. He highlighted the immense potential of Caribbean businesses to fuel regional progress.
