Basseterre, St. Kitts, Monday, September 08, 2025: Through the NVQ-SKN commencement ceremony celebrating the achievement of 38 trainees who obtained their NVQ Stage 1 certifications on Thursday, September 03, Minister of Schooling, Hon. Dr. Geoffrey Hanley, introduced a significant restructuring of technical and vocational schooling in St. Kitts and Nevis.
Addressing the way forward for technical and vocational schooling, Dr. Hanley acknowledged
“In just a few weeks, the Ministry of Schooling will merge three of its TVET establishments – AVEC, NSTP, and Mission Robust. This new establishment will bear the title of two of our TVET pioneers – Mr. Clyde Christopher and Mr. Fitzroy Wilkin. The Christopher Wilkin Institute of Know-how will probably be an establishment based on the ideas of inclusivity, adaptability, and excellence. As an institute of know-how, the ministry is dedicated to investing in new and rising applied sciences. That is evident with our most up-to-date acquisition of a welding simulator, which additional enhances and will increase the sustainability of our TVET coaching. Preparations are being made to acquire different kinds of simulators, digital actuality, and augmented actuality methods. The NVQ-SKN stands as a testomony to our nationwide dedication to human capital growth. It displays our recognition that the true power of our nation lies within the abilities, skills, and willpower of our folks.”
The merger is predicted to strengthen the supply of vocational coaching, develop alternatives for college kids, and make sure the sustainability of abilities growth throughout St. Kitts and Nevis.
