St. Kitts and Nevis gears up for a landmark cricket event at Warner Park Stadium, where local star Jahzara Claxton prepares for her first One Day International (ODI) match on home soil. The West Indies Women face Australia Women in a three-match series, starting March 27, 2026, in Basseterre.

Series Schedule and Free Public Access

The opening ODI takes place on Friday, March 27, followed by the second on Saturday, March 28, and the third on Thursday, April 2. All matches begin at 2:00 p.m. local time at Warner Park. Officials have made tickets free to the public, allowing fans to attend this significant occasion.

Milestone for St. Kitts Cricket

Claxton’s selection marks a major achievement for St. Kitts and Nevis cricket. She becomes the first player from the island to represent the West Indies Women at Warner Park. Her rise underscores the progress in local cricket development and inspires young athletes across the region.

Fans are urged to fill the stands in support of Claxton and the West Indies team as they challenge the formidable Australia Women. The series represents more than an international contest—it’s a source of national pride for the community.

Claxton’s Versatile Career

A right-arm fast-medium bowler and left-handed batter, Claxton excels as an all-rounder. Her journey began as a multi-sport talent, competing in football and track and field before focusing on cricket. She shone in regional events, including the CARIFTA Games.

Beyond the West Indies Women, Claxton has represented the West Indies Under-19s, Barbados Royals Women, Leeward Islands Women, and Trinbago Knight Riders Women, establishing herself as a key figure in Caribbean cricket.
