Nevis Island Administration officials pursue partnerships with investors to develop a luxury resort at Indian Castle. Premier Mark Brantley revealed the initiative during his April 27 press conference.

Reviving High-End Tourism Project

Authorities actively engage multiple developers to transform the Indian Castle site into an ultra-premium tourism destination. Past development plans stalled, but recent efforts revive the project to create a top-tier resort. The vision includes a new golf course that enhances Nevis’s luxury offerings, such as the Four Seasons Resort Nevis.

One developer team already inspected the site. Officials met with Greg Norman, former world number one PGA golfer, who toured the location with his group. “Greg has been here with his team. They’ve looked at the site. They are having some follow-up discussions… and if they’re minded, then they will make a proposal to us on that site,” Brantley stated. No formal proposal has reached the Cabinet yet.

Community Infrastructure Updates

Brantley provided progress on local projects. Cabinet members discuss options for the former Gingerland Library, known as Crony House, weighing a traditional restoration against a modern technology-focused facility.

Addressing concerns over the Gingerland Public Market’s condition, including roof damage, officials plan a full redevelopment. The initiative aims to bolster local agriculture by offering farmers a dedicated sales outlet. The Public Works Department coordinates the project, with detailed plans advancing to support Gingerland’s revitalization.
