St. Kitts and Nevis marks a tourism milestone with Black Rocks selected as the Caribbean Photo of the Week. The striking landmark captivated audiences through a reader-submitted image highlighted on May 2, 2026.

Photographer Catherine Bauer captured the scene during her recent visit to St. Kitts. The featured photo carries the caption “On the rocks in St. Kitts.”

Discovering Black Rocks

Black Rocks emerged from lava flows of Mount Liamuiga, the dormant stratovolcano that dominates northern St. Kitts. Located on the northeastern coast near Saddlers village, the site features jagged black volcanic cliffs and boulders shaped by natural forces over time.

Officials highlight Black Rocks’ rugged beauty and exceptional photography opportunities, drawing crowds of tourists eager to explore its dramatic landscape.

Caribbean Journal Spotlight

The Caribbean Journal, a key digital source for regional travel, tourism, and hotel updates, invites readers to submit photos of standout landmarks. Submissions should include the photographer’s full name for consideration in weekly features.

St. Kitts Tourism Accolades

St. Kitts and Nevis continues to excel in 2026. Earlier this year, the nation earned recognition as a top sustainable destination in the Caribbean. Kelly Fontenelle, CEO of the St. Kitts Tourism Authority, received the Caribbean Tourism Executive of the Year award.

In April 2026, St. Kitts claimed Green Destination of the Year honors. Ital Creations at Fari Organic Farm also secured the Green Agriculture Award at the 2026 Caribbean Green Awards.
