The St. Kitts and Nevis government has designated the ELEVATE Centre as a certified Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) examination hub, marking a key step in advancing education and youth development.

Certification Ceremony Highlights Government Commitment

A dedicatory ceremony took place on April 29, 2026, at the ELEVATE Centre office in Basseterre. This initiative underscores the federation’s dedication to expanding educational opportunities and fostering national progress. Students across the island can now sit for CSEC exams at the centre, which promotes inclusive learning and supports youth empowerment.

Deputy Prime Minister Praises Centre’s Impact

Geoffrey Hanley, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, described the milestone as historic. “This is historic because Elevate is more than a programme; it is a beacon of second chances, a place where our youth are given the opportunity to rewrite their stories and reclaim their future,” Hanley stated.

Hanley emphasized that the centre goes beyond academics, building public confidence and aiding personal aspirations. “This centre represents true rehabilitation. It is not only about academics, but about restoring dignity, hope, and purpose,” he added.

Expanded Access and Free Offerings

The federation continues to broaden education access for all residents. The ELEVATE programme tailors learning for those in greatest need, offering a fresh start for individuals resuming their studies. Key CSEC subjects are provided free of charge.

Plans are underway to extend the programme to Nevis, with additional support for teachers and civil servants pursuing qualifications.
