Taiwan’s Navy arrives in Saint Kitts and Nevis on Friday, April 10, 2026, marking the first such visit in 23 years. This goodwill mission highlights the annual Midshipmen Cruising and Training Squadron, aimed at fostering international ties and cultural exchanges with diplomatic partners.

Public Open Day at Port Zante

The naval vessel opens to the public from 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Port Zante, Pier 2, accessible via the arrival hall. Visitors gain a rare chance to board the ship, tour its facilities, and interact with crew members. The experience showcases the training, professionalism, and maritime expertise of Taiwan’s midshipmen, along with insights into the nation’s social and technological advancements.

Special Performances on Bay Road

Following the ship tours, a performance program runs from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in front of Ram’s Supermarket on Bay Road. The St. Kitts and Nevis Defence Force (SKNDF) Band kicks off the event, followed by Taiwan Navy displays featuring drums, an honor guard, and martial arts demonstrations. Authorities implement a temporary road closure in the vicinity for safety.

Visitor Guidelines

Taiwan’s Embassy in Saint Kitts and Nevis encourages public attendance for this unique event. Note that no restroom facilities are available on board, and flat shoes are mandatory for safety during boarding.

This visit strengthens the longstanding friendship between Saint Kitts and Nevis and Taiwan, offering locals a direct engagement with naval cadets and their capabilities.
