Students from St. Kitts and Nevis join forces with their Nigerian counterparts at the Anoora Club Tree Planting Ceremony held in Abuja’s National Park. This event strengthens Afri-Caribbean ties through youth development and cultural exchange initiatives.

Collaborative Tree Planting Highlights Unity

The participants plant six trees, each named by pairs of students to reflect shared experiences and future aspirations. These symbolic acts underscore the growing connections between the two regions.

Tree Names and Planters

  • Demelda: Named by Denyjah Matthew from St. Kitts and Nevis and Emelda from Nigeria.
  • Bridge: Planted by Nahamani Carey from St. Kitts and Nevis and Hassan from Nigeria, symbolizing stronger links between the nations.
  • WiFi: Chosen by Tamyiah Hodge from St. Kitts and Nevis and Lebo from Nigeria, nodding to modern connectivity.
  • Unnamed fusion of Leana Walters from St. Kitts and Nevis and Alexis from Nigeria, created by combining their names.
  • Oh Land of Beauty: Selected by Dezroy Mills from St. Kitts and Nevis and Simi from Nigeria.
  • Depend: Planted by DeAnna Davis from St. Kitts and Nevis and Phenyo from Nigeria.

Minister’s Participation Boosts Momentum
