Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, Dr. Terrance Drew, announces plans to establish a Youth Economic Empowerment Bureau to foster young entrepreneurs and address rising service demands.

Targeted Support for Young Businesses

The initiative targets youth interested in tourism, agriculture, and the orange economy. Young entrepreneurs receive resources, guidance, and training to build sustainable ventures and capitalize on expanding opportunities.

Government grants and soft loans stand available to help launch these businesses, ensuring the nation’s youth drives economic growth.

Opportunities in the Yachting Sector

Dr. Drew highlights the yachting industry’s potential, noting that Safe Harbour Marina requires specific skills and support services. Trained youth fill these gaps, accessing jobs and entrepreneurial roles with proper preparation.

The bureau connects young talent directly to these high-demand areas, promoting self-reliance and innovation.

Navigating Global Challenges

Amid geopolitical tensions worldwide, Dr. Drew emphasizes national unity to overcome obstacles and thrive. The roundtable discussion, held in March, also covers the CARICOM Summit, a recent Ghana visit, and a positive economic outlook.
