The St Christopher and Nevis Air and Sea Ports Authority (SCASPA) has renamed the waiting lounge at Transit Facility Shed 2 in Deep Water Harbour to the “Ike Tross Waiting Lounge.”
This change honors Ike Tross, a former employee in the Seaport Operations Department who served for nearly two decades. His 18 years of dedication have left a lasting impact, ensuring passengers and staff recognize his contributions.
Ceremony Details and Attendees
SCASPA executives, staff, and key stakeholders attended the renaming ceremony, including representatives from the Ministry of Tourism and the Minister himself. Permanent Secretary Tivanna Wharton addressed the gathering, highlighting the event’s importance.
“It was an opportunity for the organization to reflect on the contributions and the role Tross played within the daily operations of the port community,” Wharton stated.
The Chief Executive Officer of SCASPA delivered remarks praising Tross’ commitment and influence. Colleagues described him as a dependable team member who handled responsibilities with humility, consistency, and a strong sense of duty to the organization and its customers. Members of the Tross family and representatives from stakeholder agencies also joined the event.
Preserving Institutional Legacy
SCASPA emphasizes that acknowledging such dedicated individuals helps preserve the organization’s history and values the workforce’s role in port operations and development.
