Basseterre, St. Kitts, July 23, 2025 (PMO) — Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, the Honourable Dr. Terrance Michael Drew, has been nominated for the 2025 Lifetime Achievement Award and Tribute by the Most Influential Individuals of African Descent (MIPAD), a world civil society initiative acknowledged by the United Nations. This accolade is one in all MIPAD’s highest honors and celebrates leaders of African descent whose work and affect have had transformative impression throughout generations.

The announcement was made by Prime Minister Drew throughout his nationwide press convention held on July 22, 2025, the place he expressed, “I’ve been nominated to obtain recognition by MIPAD, which is linked to the United Nations, to honour or to acknowledge leaders of African descent who’re making important strides to advance African peoples on the earth. I believe I would be the solely Prime Minister within the area to try this.”

This world recognition comes as Dr. Drew continues to strengthen St. Kitts and Nevis’ worldwide partnerships and champion a progressive, people-centered imaginative and prescient rooted within the Sustainable Island State Agenda. His management has been marked by daring efforts in reconnecting with the African continent, pioneering renewable vitality, increasing healthcare entry, modernizing infrastructure, and selling inclusive financial development.

Reflecting on the importance of the award, the Prime Minister added, “Our dimension doesn’t restrict what we are able to obtain… We’re small, however we tallawah.”

Dr. Drew shall be acknowledged throughout MIPAD’s Recognition Weekend on September 26, 2025, on the Harvard Membership in New York Metropolis, on the sidelines of the eightieth United Nations Common Meeting. 

He joins a distinguished cohort of worldwide luminaries, together with President Barack Obama, President Nana Akufo-Addo, and Dr. Tedros Ghebreyesus of the WHO, all of whom have beforehand acquired the Lifetime Achievement distinction.
