Basseterre, St. Kitts. July 7, 2025. St. Kitts and Nevis’ seashore volleyball duo of Jedidiah Pencheon and Julian Bristol, competing beneath the banner of the Japanese Caribbean Volleyball Affiliation (ECVA), delivered a powerful efficiency on the NORCECA U21 Seashore Volleyball Qualifier held within the Dominican Republic, during the last weekend, narrowly lacking out on an automated berth to the FIVB U21 World Seashore Championships.

The pair completed sixth out of 15 groups, a monumental achievement that displays the depth of expertise throughout the SKN volleyball program. Crew St. Kitts and Nevis completed with a match file of three wins and three losses. The pair claimed victories over Puerto Rico, St. Lucia, and Nicaragua. They suffered defeats to USA and Costa Rica, the eventual finalists. In a decisive match for a top-five end, they fell simply brief to El Salvador in an exhilarating three-set battle: 17-21, 21-18, 10-15.

“The blokes gave all the pieces that they had. I’m extraordinarily happy with how they carried out. They flew the St. Kitts and Nevis flag excessive and represented very effectively,” stated Coach Brenda Allen.

Though St. Kitts and Nevis narrowly missed out on direct qualification reserved for the highest 5 groups, they continue to be in rivalry. By ending sixth, they earned a spot within the play-in match stage of the FIVB U21 World Seashore Championships. There, they may compete towards the sixth to ninth place finishers from the opposite 4 continental confederations, with the highest 4 groups advancing to the principle draw.

This marks a continued historic trajectory for the Federation. In 2023, St. Kitts and Nevis made its debut on the FIVB U21 World Championships in Thailand, with Julian Bristol competing alongside Clerique Ward. Now, Bristol stands on the cusp of creating a return, this time with the proficient Jedidiah Pencheon.

Male Bracket: Dominica (ninth), St. Lucia (thirteenth), and Grenada (fifteenth)

Feminine Bracket: St. Lucia (ninth), Antigua and Barbuda (twelfth), and Anguilla (thirteenth)

The St. Kitts Novice Volleyball Affiliation (SKAVA) and the Japanese Caribbean Volleyball Affiliation (ECVA) commend the athletes for his or her dedication, braveness, and excellent illustration of the Federation on the worldwide stage.
