Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew of St. Kitts and Nevis has provided an update regarding his current health situation, assuring citizens of his well-being while undergoing medical evaluation in South Florida. The Prime Minister communicated directly with the public on Sunday, August 30, 2026, detailing the symptoms he experienced and the subsequent medical advice that led to his current care plan.

Prime Minister’s Health Update and Symptoms

Dr. Drew explained that he traveled to Florida on the recommendation of medical specialists in St. Kitts and Nevis and Martinique. These specialists are conducting further tests to thoroughly assess his condition. He emphasized that, at present, there is nothing alarming to report, but the medical team is continuing its investigations to ensure a comprehensive evaluation. The Prime Minister stressed the importance of allowing the doctors the time and space to conduct their testing without interruption.

Detailing the onset of his symptoms, Dr. Drew described experiencing persistent nausea that progressed to episodes of vomiting on Sunday. He also reported discomfort, including pain on the left side of his neck and a mild headache. Additionally, he noted feeling unsteady on his feet and experiencing issues with his balance. These symptoms prompted him to seek medical attention.

Medical Journey and Care

Following the emergence of his symptoms, Dr. Drew was advised by his medical team in St. Kitts and Nevis to admit himself to the J.N.F. General Hospital. While hospitalized, he underwent a series of tests, scans, and other investigations. Subsequently, on Monday, August 31, he was transported to Martinique for prompt medical support, acting on the advice of the local medical professionals.

From Martinique, Dr. Drew, accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Diani Prince Drew, traveled to Florida. This move was also made under the guidance of the medical teams in both Martinique and St. Kitts and Nevis. The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude for the outpouring of support and well wishes from the public for his swift and full recovery. He also acknowledged and thanked individuals for the medical advice they have offered.

Prioritizing Health and Public Encouragement

In light of his current circumstances, Dr. Drew stated that he is prioritizing his health by following his doctors’ advice to step back and rest. He used his personal experience to encourage the citizens of St. Kitts and Nevis to take their own health seriously. He urged the public to:

  • Schedule and attend regular medical checkups.
  • Allocate sufficient time for rest and recovery.
  • Never disregard warning signs or symptoms that indicate something is not right.

The Prime Minister extended his sincere appreciation to the doctors and nurses at the J.N.F. General Hospital for their prompt and professional care. He also conveyed his gratitude to the current medical team in Florida attending to him.

Conclusion

Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew’s update provides transparency regarding his health and reassures the nation of his ongoing medical care. His message also serves as a reminder to the public about the importance of proactive health management and heeding one’s body’s signals. The focus remains on his thorough medical evaluation and recovery, with the support of his medical teams and the well wishes of the nation.
